1. General symptoms of swelling of the feet or ankles:

*Pregnancy: Sudden swelling appears in the feet and ankles during pregnancy, usually after the 20th week of pregnancy, and may be the first symptom of preeclampsia.

* Some diseases: including heart disease, liver disease, and kidney disease, all of which cause changes in the water balance in the body, leading to swelling of the feet or ankles.

*Move as much as possible, and when lying down, the feet should be raised above the level of the heart.
*Getting rid of excess weight leads to relieving pressure on joints and muscles.
*Abstain from alcohol, cigarettes and other substances that can lead to swelling.
