Medical genetics and immunological diseases

 Specialist in the Internal Medicine Department of the University Hospital Príncipe de Asturias, Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, since 1990 and responsible of its Clinical Genetics and Lipid Unit of this Hospital since 2007.  Associate Professor of Medicine on Alcalá University since 1991, responsible of two Doctorate Courses, and professor in multiple post degree courses.  Author of 130 papers in national and international medical journals, 30 chapters in books and more than 200 communications to congresses.  Member of Scientific Committee of Revista Clínica Española (Official Journal of the Spanish Society of Internal Medicine) and the Hospital and Regional (Comunidad de Madrid) Institutional Ethics Review Committees for Clinical Research.  Membership of Spanish Societies of Internal Medicine, Atherosclerosis, Human Genetics and Epidemiology.  Main areas of clinical, research and teaching activities are focused on: the genetic dyslipidemias, the clinical epidemiology of atherosclerosis and cardiovascular risk factors, the genetic basis of complex diseases and the rare monogenic diseases.
