Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgery

The majority of my elective work was occupied by microsurgical Breast and Head and Neck reconstruction. I performed and am proficient at DIEP, Bi-pedicled DIEP, SIEA, S-GAP, ALT, Fibular, lateral arm, radial forearm, LD and gracilis flaps. My emergency duties involved covering St. Marys Major Trauma Centre and I carried out a number of complex lower limb reconstructions I acquired valuable experience in the management of a wide variety of cancers including soft tissue sarcomas. I was primary assistant in 55 unilateral and 10 bilateral DIEP flaps. I raised 7 free flaps and carried out 25 anastamoses successfully. I became competent with the interpretation of CT angiograms and the use of couplers for venous anastamoses. I was also involved in 8 ALT, 3 fibular and 3 pectoralis major flaps in head and neck reconstruction. I was primary surgeon in 3 pedicled LD flaps post sarcoma excision and 3 rectus abdominis flaps for sternal reconstruction.
