Dr. Lissette Batista is a consultant gastroenterologist, trained at the Mutua de Terrassa University Hospital, Barcelona, where she has also been a collaborating teacher in the areas of gastroenterology, hepatology, endoscopy and nutrition. She has completed specialized training in Advanced Endoscopy at the Erasme Hospital in Brussels Belgium and a Master in advanced medical skills in Digestive Endoscopy at the Hospital Clínico y Provincial de Barcelona, also a Master in Business Administration specializing in Health Management at IMF business school with a double degree in the Camilo José Cela University. Dr. Batista is also dedicated to scientific research with several publications and scientific articles in specialized national and international medical journals, she has been the author / writer of book chapters on Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Nutrition. She is doing the Phd/doctorade on Intestinal Microbiota in Microscopic Colitis at the University of Barcelona, currently following lines of scientific research in this area. She is also an expert medical advisor in the area of gastroenterology in Europe and the United States. She has directed the PREVENCOLON-RD Project, a program for the early identification of colorectal cancer in Dominican Republic.
