Dr. Murthi is Chief of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore Maryland. Director of Shoulder and Elbow fellowship and research. Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery Georgetown University School of Medicine. He has lectured nationally and internationally on numerous topics related to shoulder and elbow disease. Is currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Surgery, Journal of Shoulder and Elbow Arthroplasty, American Journal of Orthopaedics and Current Orthopaedic Practice. Founder, Past President and Executive Board Member of Association of Clinical Elbow and Shoulder Surgeons. Active Member of American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons. Member of Charles Neer Circle. Member and Co-Chairman of Mid-Atlantic Shoulder and Elbow Society. He has made surgical education a primary goal in his career and continues to teach medical students, residents, fellows, and orthopaedic surgeons from across the country and overseas. He continues to create and innovate implants and techniques.
