Pediatric surgery and pediatric urology

Presently I am Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust in Nottingham UK. I am also Co Chairman of Medical Staff Committee (MSC). Postgraduate training is my greatest passion besides clinical work, and I discovered it when I took the Consultant Paediatric Surgeon’s job at Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham in 2001. When I look back this passion started while I was undergoing training at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER). I became Assistant Professor at prestigious PGIMER on the basis of my strong teaching credentials rather than research. In fact, I had no publication till then whereas now I have more than 40 publications in peer reviewed journals. In my current role as Co-Chair of MSC, I still devote more attention to issues around junior doctors most which pertain to the betterment of their training opportunities and morale. I will go through my journet in the field of post graduate medical education from 1987 till now.
