Cardiology

I am a board-certified Cardiologist. I joined the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) as Research Fellow/Visiting Instructor from 2015 - 2016. Over the course of my academic career I have developed a strong background in cardiovascular imaging, with specific training and expertise in clinical practice and key research areas. I worked in some of the most prestigious cardiovascular centers in the field of cardiac CT and MR imaging, such as the Medical University of South Carolina under the lead of Prof. U. Joseph Schoepf and the Heart Center Munich-Bogenhausen under the lead of Prof. Ellen Hoffmann in cooperation with the Ludwigs-Maximilians-University. Beside cardiac imaging, my major focus is on interventional cardiology with a special focus on structural heart disease. I experienced specific training in structural heart disease at the St. Johannes Hospital Dortmund under the supervision by Prof. Helge Möllmann. By now, I am serving as the Chief Senior Physician and Head of cardiac cath lab at the Clinic Augustinum Munich. During my academic career, I authored 124 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and two book chapters. I am actually a member of numerous scientific societies (ESC, DGK, SCCT, NASCI, RSNA, ESR,). In summary, I have a demonstrated record of clinical expertise and productive research projects in cardiology and cardiovascular imaging.
